It is important for clients to know the areas of expertise and limitations of their counsellor. I am not a psychologist and I do not bulk bill, accept Medicare or accept Mental Health Care Plans. I do not conduct mental health assessments and I do not diagnose mental illnesses. Counsellors, however, do work with clients who present with mental health issues by helping them in specific areas and challenges they are experiencing in their life which helps improve their mental health. I network with other mental health professionals including clinical psychologists and psychiatrists and make appropriate referrals if needed.
A mental health care plan or a GP referral is not required to make an appointment.
